This notice describes the Workprint Mac and Windows apps and this website.
What the app counts
Workprint converts input events into numeric counters: keystrokes, estimated characters and words, keyboard categories and known shortcuts, clicks, scrolling, estimated cursor travel, and active time. It associates aggregated activity with an application's identifier and display name. It stores hourly totals and activity session start and end times locally on your computer.
What it never stores
Typed characters, sequences of key codes, passwords, clipboard contents, screenshots, document contents, window titles, browser URLs, messages, and email contents are not stored. The keyboard classifier does not extract text from input events.
Permissions
macOS Input Monitoring lets the app receive input events across applications. Windows uses Raw Input after you choose to start counting in onboarding. It does not ask for administrator access. The macOS operating-system permission is broad; Workprint's implementation deliberately uses it only to build counters. macOS Secure Input and other operating-system restrictions can prevent events from being counted. Workprint does not try to bypass those restrictions.
Local storage and control
On Mac, analytics are stored in a local SQLite database in your user Library's Application Support/Workprint folder (sandboxed editions use their private application container). On Windows, aggregated activity is stored as JSON in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Workprint. The app does not upload analytics and requires no account. You can pause tracking, exclude applications, set retention, export aggregated data, and delete stored activity in Settings. Your own device backups may retain older copies of files; deleting the app's local data does not delete external backups.
Sharing is your choice
Exported JSON and locally rendered PNG share cards can contain your activity totals and, depending on the export, application names and session times. You choose whether to export and where to send those files. Deleting app data does not remove files you previously exported or shared.
This website
This site contains no advertising, analytics scripts, account system, or mailing-list form. The hosting and domain providers process ordinary web requests, which may include IP address, browser information, and request logs to deliver and secure the site. Visiting a website is separate from the app's entirely local analytics.
Release status and support
The available downloads are beta software with the signing limitations described on the download and support pages. Help and a link to the public support tracker are available on our support page. Do not include private activity data in a public support report.
